Kirby Lunn has recently returned to Australia after living and performing in New York. Since her return she could be seen starring as Britney Spears in the pop concert sensation Hit Me Britney One More Time, as Mary in the Australian Premiere of Oh, Mary! at Belvoir's Play Club, or as Roaslind in As You Like It (Melbourne Shakespeare) for which she won the Greenroom Award for Best Performance in a Lead Role.
While in the states Kirby stared as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde The Musical and Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray. Her time in the States was made complete by joining the North American touring company of Kinky Boots understudying the role of Lauren under the original direction of the incredible Jerry Mitchell. Prior to leaving for the US, Kirby made her professional debut in the musical Eurobeat: Almost Eurovision and then quickly went on to be cast in the original Australian production of Hairspray. She then made her leading role debut as Sarah in Rolling Thunder Vietnam and while spending some time studying in London, she got the thrill of squeezing into a very tight cat-suit for the role of Maureen in Rent.
When not performing, she is always working on her craft as an actor. Her favourite training includes masterclasses with Stephen Schwartz, Andrew Lippa, Tim Rice and the Resident Directors of Broadway shows Mean Girls, Wicked and Waitress.
Alongside her performing Kirby is also an up & coming writer who performed her own work The Man playing Marilyn Monroe . She is an avid supporter in new work and has been involved of many workshops and developments for up and coming shows both for Broadway and in Australia.
